Reliable Lithium and Electrolyte Raw Materials for Battery and Energy Applications
At WE Chem, we supply essential raw materials that power energy storage systems and electrochemical technologies. Our portfolio includes high-purity lithium salts—such as lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide, and lithium chloride—that are critical for the production of lithium-ion battery cathodes, electrolytes, and molten salt systems. In addition, ammonium chloride supports battery electrolyte formulations for zinc–carbon cells and serves in industrial processes requiring precise pH control.
Each product is listed alphabetically below and includes:
-
Full chemical name, abbreviation, and CAS number
-
Typical applications such as coatings, adhesives, textiles, personal care, or hydrogels
-
Packaging options such as drums, IBCs, bulk or customized formats
-
Suggested alternatives for formulating flexibility and supply chain resilience
Whether you're developing next-generation EV batteries, energy-dense storage solutions, or reliable grid-scale systems, our materials meet demanding specifications for purity, consistency, and performance—ensuring safe and efficient energy output.

ammonium chloride
CAS: 12125-02-9
E510
Main Applications: Batteries – used as an electrolyte (NH₄Cl paste) in zinc–carbon dry cell batteries, Adhesives / Wood Industry – used as a curing agent in urea-formaldehyde resin adhesives for plywood and particle board (enables bonding at lower temperatures), Agriculture – used as a fertilizer and feed additive (source of nitrogen and chloride for crops and livestock), Food / Confectionery – used as a food additive (E510) in salty liquorice ("Salmiak"), especially in Nordic and Dutch sweets, Pharmaceuticals – used as an expectorant in cough medicine, Metal Processing – used as a flux in preparing metals to be tin coated, galvanized or soldered (removes oxide layers).
bags
Alternative to: Sodium chloride or other ammonium salts.
Ammonium chloride provides higher solubility and more effective pH control, especially useful in electroplating, food processing, and electrolytes.
lithium carbonate
CAS: 554-13-2
Li2Co3
Main Applications: Energy (Batteries) – precursor for lithium-ion battery cathode materials and used in battery electrolytes, making it critical in battery production, Glass & Ceramics – serves as a flux to lower melting temperatures and improve the strength of specialty glass and ceramic products. Also used in aluminum processing and cement where it improves product properties.
bags
Alternative to: Lithium hydroxide (LiOH).
Lithium carbonate is a key lithium source that can, in many cathode production routes and industrial applications, substitute lithium hydroxide, especially where cost and established processing favour the carbonate form
lithium chloride
CAS: 7447-41-8
LiCl
Main Applications: Air Conditioning/Dehumidification – used as a desiccant in industrial air dryers and HVAC systems due to its strong moisture absorption (helps maintain low humidity), Metal Production (Energy) – employed in electrolytic processes to produce lithium metal and as a component in molten salt batteries/nuclear reactor coolants (specialized applications), Chemical Synthesis – used as a reagent or catalyst in organic synthesis.
bags
Alternative to: Lithium carbonate (Li₂CO₃) as lithium source.
Lithium chloride can function as an alternative lithium source that is converted into lithium carbonate or hydroxide in downstream refining for battery-grade and technical applications.
lithium hydroxide
CAS: 1310-66-4
LiOH
Main Applications: Energy (Batteries) – a key raw material for lithium-ion battery cathodes (e.g. in manufacturing lithium cobalt or nickel oxides for high-performance batteries), Lubricating Greases – reacts with fatty acids to produce lithium stearate soaps, which are used as thickening agents in high-temperature, water-resistant grease for automotive and industrial bearings, Air Purification – used in CO₂ scrubbers for submarines, spacecraft, and rebreathers to absorb carbon dioxide (keeping breathing atmospheres safe)
